Annie Leibovitz
This exhibition was hard for us to find, because it seemed to be in a closed gallery. But once we got in it was very interesting. I really liked her photography, and how it was very varying in culture, showing she had travelled a lot. But mainly I liked the space which the exhibition was held, it was very small scale, but portrayed her artwork beautifully and really let it shone. So this aspect was very ipressing to me.
Sean Scully
We weren't allowed to take photographs in this exhibition either.
I wasn't really that interested by his work, compared to the other amazing exhibitions we had been too. Although his paintings were quite interesting, I wasn't overly impressed or inspired by his work.

Whitechapel Gallery
Josiah McElheny... I really loved his art installations. Different videos played over the mirrors, and they were all very different in mood, which changed the mood of the room dramatically. I really liked how intriguing they were, and how he encorperated two new mediums to create such a diverse and interesting collection of installations.
Haunch Of Venison Gallery
Here we saw a lot of works of art by post war artists.
Again it was overwhelming to see such famous artists pieces, such as Freud and Aurbach.
In particular I was very excited by seeing a David Hockney piece. As he is my favourite artist to date.
Again the scale of the piece was very overwhelming and it did inspire my to paint and puch my practice to be bigger and better.

National Portrait Gallery
For this we mainly looked at the old portraiture of the royal families from the past. I found them very interesting, and found myself amazed at the beautiful painting techniques. I also really liked the stories and symbolism in a lot of them. Used to portray certain people as extremely wealthy and powerful. And to capture them in that time forever. Now this has been replaced with photography... We also saw some of the enteries and the winner of the Taylor Wessing Photographic portrait prize...
Serpentine Gallery- Lygia Pape- Magnetized Space
This was my favourite instillation piece from this trip, and probably from all the exhibitions I have seen so far. I loved how it was such a simple idea, about hanging threads, but it was extremely powerful. It created optical illusions which meant I could stare at it for ages, and it changed as you moved around the piece. This is the artwork that inspired me to have a go at larger instillation pieces.
I also loved her work because it is so versitile, she has this piece, smaller instillations, drawings, paintings, and videos. This is why I love fine art, the area of experimentation is so varied, that it allows for exciting and versitile pieces of artwork, that to me are very inspiring and make me want to develop my own practice.
Royal College Of Art- MA Exhibition
We weren't allowed to take photographs in this particular exhibition for obvious reasons.
However on our trip to London this was my favourite exhibition. It was very varying, as it covered students from all different areas of art. I found it fascinating to see how these students worked, and found it exciting that we were viewing the artwork of possible famous future artists. This exhibition inspired me, because we could see their workings up to final pieces, which has helped me develop my own development of ideas.
